NEW ZEALAND, July 17, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- announces the launch of its Earshot headphones, including its revolutionary Shock Lock™ connection system.

Outdoor enthusiast and tech startup entrepreneur and mentor James Bell-Booth was preparing for a run in the Tongariro National Park in New Zealand when he became frustrated with his headphones: they completely distracted him from focusing on his performance and the enjoyment of the run. He had to force the earbuds painfully into his ears to get them to stay, and even when they did, he was constantly distracted by them loosening and falling out. So, James and Earshot co-founder John Grayson, a highly-experienced engineer, began designing a set of headphones that would use magnets in the earbuds and over-ear arms to comfortably secure the headphones in a user’s ears.

“We wanted to redefine the headphone experience based on how they feel on the ear, not how they sound,” says Bell-Booth. “Through extensive research and development, we’ve developed expertise in the concept of magnetic earphone attachment, and subsequently we designed a headphone product that people will forget they are even wearing.  We see the Shock Lock system reaching beyond action sports and into the workplace, where busy professionals need to receive information in a hands-free manner.”

“I gave the Earshot headphones hell at Makara Peak Mountain Bike Park in Wellington, New Zealand,” says Bryn Dickerson, a professional downhill mountain biker. “I am excited about what these headphones will do for mountain bikers and can’t wait to buy a pair.”

“After two years of seeing and testing the evolution of Earshot, I'm super excited for their release,” says Hayden Shearman, head coach at TempoFit. “Earbuds should free you up to enjoy your sport, not restrict your movement. Earshot is a major advance in functional audio.”

“Ever since I started using the Earshot headphones, I knew they were awesome,” says Krista Jensen, sport science student, trail runner and crossfitter. “The Shock Lock system makes them super comfortable and secure no matter what physical activity I am doing.”

Earshot headphones are available on . No payment is required until Earshot reaches its pledge goal.
