Madza South Africa recalls 19 000 vehicles over potentially defective airbags

Vehicle manufacturer Mazda South Africa is recalling up to 19 000 Mazda2, Mazda6 and RX-8 vehicles in South Africa as a formal global recall over possible defective airbags is extended. Owners of 2003 and newer models of Mazda2, Mazda6 and RX-8 vehicles with VIN numbers starting with MM6DE, JM6GG and JMZSE have been urged to approach Madza dealers to  have the driver-side air bag and/or passenger-side air bag inflator replaced with an improved unit.
