Rocket Dog Announces ‘Bummer’s Ball’ Gala and Fundraiser

World News: . []

Rocket Dog Rescue, San Francisco’s leading animal rescue group, has announced its gala fundraising event at the Bummer’s Ball. Headlining the event, scheduled for October 5 at the San Francisco Armory, is revered Americana singer Emily Lou Harris, an animal advocate and founder of Bonaparte’s Retreat rescue in Nashville, TN.

Bummer’s Ball pays tribute to Bummer and Lazarus, two beloved strays that roamed San Francisco streets in the early 1860s. The dogs had a unique bond and became a fixture around the city, free from local animal control ordinances and immortalized in cartoons. The event to raise funds for Rocket Dog’s rescue efforts features small bites, a silent auction and other musical performances, such as legendary folk singer-songwriter Steve Earle, and Shovelman ─ a shovel guitar wielding surrealist folk superhero.

“Every dollar raised will be used to save lives,” said Pali Boucher, Rocket Dog founder. “I hope that many will join us for this magical evening of soul-healing music, tarot card readings, circus performers, and so much more.”

Tickets are $100 and can be purchased through Eventbrite at https://bummersball.eventbrite.com. VIP tickets are also available for $250, and include an exclusive cocktail hour. 100% of profits go directly to saving lives. The doors will open at 7PM for general admission tickets, and the VIP cocktail hour will be at 6PM. The website for the event is https://www.bummersball.org.
