At its annual National Philanthropy Day (NPD) Awards Luncheon, the California Capital Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, (AFPCCC), recognized Bryce Robicheau with the organization’s prestigious “Volunteer Fundraiser of the Year” award.

Robicheau was honored among a distinguished field of nominees based on his work through HomeAid Sacramento and his record of securing more than $555,000 in cash and in-kind donations. These donations fund and support the construction and renovation of dignified emergency and transitional shelter housing in the Sacramento region.

Scott Moak, Executive Director of the Kings Foundation and public address announcer for the Sacramento Kings, introduced Robicheau: “As a result of Bryce’s fundraising efforts, countless families and individuals experiencing homelessness have been given access to dignified shelter, where they can rebuild their lives.” Robicheau has been directly involved in 15 separate HomeAid emergency and transitional shelter construction and renovation projects. He also served as Chairman for HomeAid Sacramento’s successful trap shoot fundraiser this year — an annual event that accounts for more than one-third of the budget for the official charity of the North State Building Industry Association. Moak concluded, “Bryce has a heart of gold.”

In his emotional acceptance, Robicheau shared inspirational stories of his family and upbringing that taught him the value of giving back. He also thanked his colleagues in the roofing and homebuilding industry with an appeal to get even more involved: “We literally put roofs over people’s heads– there is no better feeling. It will change your heart. It might change your life. I know it changed mine.

Additional recognition during the NPD awards presentation went to:

• Outstanding Philanthropists – Dr. Dennis and Nancy Marks,

• Outstanding Organization – SMUD,

• Outstanding Corporation – Western Health Advantage,

• Outstanding Fundraising Professional – Karen Good

• Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy – Lizzie Allison

Robicheau also thanked his employer, Citadel Roofing and Solar, for the flexibility to lead and contribute to these initiatives on behalf of the multiple non-profit shelter operator beneficiaries and the homeless people they serve.
