FOX News Channel Taps Neil Cavuto to Anchor Live Two-Hour Saturday News Program

World News: . []

FOX News Channel (FNC) will debut a new two-hour Saturday news program entitled CAVUTO Live (10AM-12 PM/ET) anchored by Neil Cavuto, announced Suzanne Scott and Jay Wallace, presidents of programming and news respectively for the network. The new program will launch on Saturday, January 20th and feature a breakdown of the major headlines impacting business and politics along with a rotating panel of industry experts each week. Cavuto Live will replace the current business block which encompasses four half hour programs from 10 AM-12 PM/ET.

In making the announcement, Wallace said, “In an era of unprecedented breaking news, much of it about politics and the economy, it is imperative that we provide our viewers with the most live coverage throughout the entire week.”

Scott added, “Neil’s 30 years of experience in covering the intersection of Wall Street and Washington make him the ideal candidate to anchor this new programming and we are grateful for him taking on this added role, now helming 17 hours of live programming across both FNC and FOX Business Network.”

Cavuto stated, “Our Saturday business block has always outperformed in the ratings because we bring the best of both FNC and FBN to this critical daypart. But now, with the news often hitting throughout the weekend, we owe it to our viewers to provide real-time reaction on just how these policies and politics impact our lives, and our finances. As I have always said, it’s not about the red or the blue, it’s about the green and I am excited to bring our audience a new, live, two-hour program that delivers the vital news and analysis our viewers need in this ever-changing political and economic landscape.”

As one of FNC’s first on-air hires, Cavuto was instrumental in helping launch the network in 1996 and was also integral in the creation of FBN in 2007. He currently serves as senior vice president and managing editor of business news across both networks and his FNC program Your World with Neil Cavuto (4PM/ET) is the highest rated business program on television, while his FBN show CAVUTO Coast to Coast (12-2PM/ET) regularly places within the top five. In November 2015, Cavuto, along with global markets editor Maria Bartiromo and Wall Street Journal editor-in-chief Gerry Baker, moderated FBN’s first-ever Republican presidential primary debate which delivered a network record of 13.5 million viewers.

Prior to joining FOX, Cavuto was part of the team that launched CNBC in 1989. There, he anchored more than three hours of live daily programming, including the network’s highest rated show, Market Wrap. He also served as a contributor to NBC’s Today Show and NBC News at Sunrise. Previously, Cavuto was the New York Bureau Chief for PBS Television’s Nightly Business Report and Washington Bureau Chief for Investment Age Magazine.

Cavuto has covered some of the most important business and political stories of our time, including the 9/11 attacks, the 2008 financial crisis, the 1987 stock market crash, and both Persian Gulf Wars. He has also reported firsthand on the major economic policies of every American president since Jimmy Carter, and covered major corporate scandals from Tyco to Enron. He got his start in journalism as a reporter for the Indianapolis News and Star. Before he became a journalist, Cavuto served as an intern in the Carter Administration.

FOX News Channel (FNC) is a 24-hour all-encompassing news service dedicated to delivering breaking news as well as political and business news. The number one network in cable, FNC has been the most watched television news channel for more than 15 years and according to a Suffolk University/USA Today poll, is the most trusted television news source in the country.
