Unified, the leading social advertising data intelligence platform and solutions provider, announced the recipients of its second annual LEAD (Leadership Empowerment and Development) Awards. Last night in New York City, Unified honored the influencers, mentors, and role models that have consistently inspired and supported the company’s mission of empowering women. The ceremony was hosted at the Midtown Terrace in Manhattan, and featured an award ceremony and lively panel discussions around this year’s theme: Owning It. Award-winners are below.
“The LEAD Awards were created to recognize the female leaders of today and inspire the female leaders of tomorrow,” said Unified VP of Advertising, Kellie Sakey. “Our goal is to embolden female leadership and shine a light on the vital stories of the true leaders who are paving the way for those next in line.”
The night’s keynote panel discussion, moderated by CNN gender and money writer Julia Carpenter, was entitled “Working Like A Woman: The Pros & Cons Of Advising Women To ‘Be More Like Men’ To Succeed,” and featured Julie Widler, EVP, Business Affairs & General Counsel at Sony Music Entertainment; Brittany Richter, VP, Head of Social Media at iProspect; Erin Cullen, RVP, Mid Market Sales at Demandbase; and Josh Backer, President, Advertising, SVP, Operations and Co-Founder at Unified.
The event also included two fireside chats: One featured Dr. Alaa Murabit, the UN’s High Level Commissioner, Health Employment and Economic Growth; and Lydia Dishman, a tech and innovations reporter at Fast Company who discussed “Female Representation and its Impact on Women’s Careers and the Global Economy”. The other featured Ellevate CEO Kristy Wallace and Dee Poku Spalding, founder and CEO, WIE Network/The Other Festival, who talked about cultivating communities for women and beyond.
The LEAD Awards were inspired by Unified’s LEAD Program, which was developed to create an open and supportive workplace community that encourages and inspires female employees to have the confidence to pursue their career ambitions at the highest level. Through workshops, discussions and other support activities, Unified’s LEAD Program emboldens female leadership and helps talent take action on the most pressing career challenges.
