Beat Fever and Today, I'm Brave Launch "Play for Puerto Rico" Music Charity Campaign to Bring Awareness, Drive Donations and Rebuild Roofs in Puerto Rico

Beat Fever, a mobile music app with over 9.1 million music fans, is launching the "Play for Puerto Rico" charity campaign to drive awareness and donations for 100Roofs.org's Puerto Rico recovery efforts to raise $500,000 to rebuild 100 roofs by the end of the year. Beat Fever will match donations up to $5,000.

"It’s hard to imagine that 60,000 homes are still using blue tarps as roofs in Puerto Rico a year after the hurricanes. In the spirit of teaching a man to fish, 100Roofs is a sustainable and scalable way to help Puerto Ricans rebuild their homes and communities,” said David Angelo, founder of Today, I’m Brave. “Our goal is to generate widespread awareness of 100Roofs and garner as much support as possible. Launching the Play for Puerto Rico interactive album reaches a broader audience and lets music fans interact with the music while learning more about the ongoing efforts to rebuild Puerto Rico."

"Play for Puerto Rico" comes to life for music fans as an interactive album, featuring music from Daddy Yankee, Luis Fonsi, and Nicky Jam, with more songs to be added in the coming weeks.

Music fans tap to the beat of the songs, learn about the 100Roofs project via pop-up videos between songs, and can donate to 100Roofs directly with the click of a button. Plus, Puerto Rican themed virtual clothing will be available, allowing music fans to give back while personalizing their avatar.

A key initiative of nonprofit Today, I’m Brave, 100Roofs is spearheaded by Rosie Perez and Ramon Rodriguez in partnership with disaster relief organization Heart 9/11 to rebuild roofs in Puerto Rico that were devastated by the hurricanes exactly a year ago. Through Heart 9/11, 100Roofs is sending teams to Puerto Rico to rebuild roofs and teach local men and women carpentry skills through an apprenticeship program so they have the tangible and empowering skills to rebuild their respective communities.

Launched last year, Beat Fever has amassed millions of music fans from over 150 countries, and driven tens of millions of clicks out to music platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. Packed with hundreds of licensed hits from “Uptown Funk” to “Super Bass,” Beat Fever is introducing all genres of music to the next generation of music fans by making it interactive.

Running through November 30, 2018, "Play for Puerto Rico" is accessible on Beat Fever via PlayforPuertoRico.com, or directly on iOS via iTunes and Android via Google Play.

Today, I’m Brave is a fiscally sponsored nonprofit whose mission is to inspire individuals and organizations through Brave initiatives and by sharing Brave stories. Because the braver we are, the more fear we can conquer. And when we conquer fear, we can accomplish anything, and, together, create positive change around the world. Today, I’m Brave has also supported the Brave causes of world-class, purpose-driven organizations including Shine On Sierra Leone, the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, the Covenant House of California and our latest initiative, the 100Roofs Project, which is focused on aiding Puerto Ricans still suffering in the aftermath of Hurricanes Irma and Maria.
