Employers write to police commissioner over metals strike violence

Concerns of violence in the metals and engineering strike prompted employers to write to national police commissioner Riah Phiyega twice, the Steel and Engineering Industries Federation of Southern Africa (Seifsa) said on Thursday. Seifsa CEO Kaizer Nyatsumba said its members had reported cases of striking workers behaving unlawfully and, in some cases, violently.
