German composer Hans Zimmer will receive a lifetime achievement award during a ceremony in Zurich on October 1.The German film composer, who has contributed to the soundtracks of over 100 films, will be honored with a lifetime achievement award during a special ceremony at the Zurich Film Festival on October 1. Hans Zimmer has collaborated on some of the greatest films of the past 30 years. Operating across virtually every film genre imaginable, he has scored features ranging from "Thelma and Louise" to "Madagascar," as well as the films in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise, "The Ring," "Gladiator," "Pearl Harbor" and the recent "Divergent," among others. Zimmer has already won an Academy Award, two Golden Globes, three Grammys and a Tony, making the lifetime achievement award his eighth trophy.
