Sudanese military invites AUC chairperson to Khartoum for urgent talks

Sudan’s Transitional Military Council (TMC) has invited African Union Commission (AUC) chairperson Moussa Faki to visit Khartoum for urgent talks after the AU Peace and Security Council (AUPSC) on Monday warned that unless the TMC handed over power to a civilian government Sudan would be kicked out of the continental organisation. The invitation was delivered by TMC member Lieutenant Jalal Al Tayeb who arrived earlier in the week in the Ethiopian Addis Ababa to meet with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to update him on the political situation in Sudan following the ouster of former President Omar Al Bashir during the April 11 military coup, the Sudan Tribune reported.
