The state isn’t harvesting increasing amounts of wind energy because it can’t be delivered to power-hungry downstate where it is needed, and if more wind farms go up that problem will only grow worse unless new transmission lines are built. “This is something for us to keep our eyes on as more wind gets deployed,” said Richard Dewey, an executive vice president for the New York Independent System Operator (ISO).
