MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan edged down 0.05%. The index had fallen to its lowest level since the end of January the previous day as a trade conflict between the United States and China intensified. Australian stocks added 0.07%, South Korea's KOSPI slipped 0.1% and Japan's Nikkei shed 0.4%.
