A global equity recovery set off by softer rhetoric from U.S. President Donald Trump on the trade dispute with Beijing waned on Wednesday as grim Chinese data and fresh Italian debt woes cast a shadow over global markets. Investors took some comfort from Trump's calling the dispute with Beijing 'a little squabble' on Tuesday and insisting talks had not collapsed. France's benchmark slipped 0.3% while London's FTSE traded flat.
